Assistant Management Accountant

Salary: Up to £25,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours of work: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday

The Assistant Management Accountant reports to the Finance Manager. The successful candidate will work as part of a small, cohesive team providing a professional, effective financial management service to the charity.

The role:

  • To assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts
  • To prepare and post journals for prepayments, accruals and fixed assets
  • To provide timely and accurate reports of transactional activity
  • To manage petty cash, including banking of cheques and cash
  • To analyse and report on unexpected variances from budgets and forecasts
  • To raise purchase orders on behalf of the finance team

The person:

  • Will be working towards a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, AAT, CIMA)
  • Will have previous experience in a finance role
  • Will have advanced data analysis skills and be an analytical and logical thinker
  • Will have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Will have excellent IT skills
  • Will have excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Will be flexible and an excellent team player
  • Will be innovative, proactive and forward thinking
