Founded on Christian principles in the 12th century and today welcoming people of all faiths, we provide our almshouse residents and over 55s in Bath and North East Somerset with the emotional, social and spiritual care they may need from time to time.

The Chapel of St Michael’s Within next to our Chapel Court almshouse in the centre of Bath is open every day as a place for quiet reflection and prayer, and has a Chaplain on site who is able to listen to worries and fears and help people find comfort and hope, and ways of coping with their difficulties.

Inclusive and progressive in its approach to pastoral care, our chaplaincy is an important part of our Good Living Service and a valuable source of help and support in the local community. Our Chaplain and assistant offer informal advice, a listening ear and guided prayer as well as more traditional forms of worship.

For further information and details of chaplaincy services and church events, please contact the Chaplain jacky.wise@stjohnsbath.org.uk
