No. 1 Queen Square in the heart of Bath was gifted to St John’s in 1953 by the Whittington family – direct descendants of the fabled Dick Whittington. Leased as offices for more than 60 years, this prestigious Grade I listed building began an extensive renovation programme in 2019.
Working with local experts in the field, St John’s completed its sympathetic renovation in 2021. And returned to its former glory, the building was renamed House of St John’s. As a versatile work and event space, it now supports a variety of local businesses, helping them to interact and grow in a positive business environment.
Just like our companion development at St Catherine’s Hospital, the House of St John’s is run by our dedicated commercial trading subsidiary to directly generate funds that support our wide range of charitable work across Bath and North East Somerset.
House of St John’s members are not only using the space to meet, network, and make a living, but they are also helping to fund positive change within the local community at the same time. It’s a workspace with social purpose.
