St Catherine’s
St Catherine’s Hospital has been part of St John’s history for centuries. Originally gifted to the charity in 1444, it served as an almshouse for many years before the historic building eventually became unsuitable for older residents.
In 2008, the Grade II listed building was carefully restored and transformed into ten short-stay apartments in the heart of the city. Just steps from the Thermae Spa and a short walk from the Roman Baths, they provide a peaceful place to stay.
Overlooking the original courtyard garden, the apartments combine historic surroundings with comfortable, modern living. Each flat includes a bedroom, kitchen, living space and bathroom, making them ideal for holidays, weekend visits, business trips or longer stays.
St Catherine’s Hospital sits within our commercial trading company which means that income generated from stays here helps fund St John’s charitable work across Bath and North East Somerset.
