House of St John’s
No. 1 Queen Square has long been part of St John’s story. The building was gifted to the charity in 1953 by the Whittington family, the last descendants of the fabled Dick Whittington. The Grade I listed building was carefully restored and reopened in 2021 by our Trading Company as the House of St John’s.
Today it’s a place where Bath comes together. People work here, meet here and celebrate here. Since opening, we’ve been proud to see it grow into one of the city’s most distinctive spaces for business, events and intimate wedding ceremonies.
The House sits within St John’s Trading Company, our commercial subsidiary. As it grows, profits are returned to the charity to support our work across Bath and North East Somerset.
