In 2018, we completed Chandos House.
The property was once a much-loved St John’s Almshouse, but due to certain building regulations and restrictions, it was no longer fit for purpose. Rather than dispose of a significantly historic city centre building, we worked with local experts to innovatively re-develop and create a new revenue stream from which we are investing in the people, enterprises and communities of Bath.
Chandos House, a Grade 2* Listed Building adjacent to our city centre base, was transformed to create seven elegant apartments. Offering these on a long-lease model presented a unique housing purchase and independent living option for older people in Bath.
Chandos House was a project that personifies everything we do; helping older people live independent lives in a way that both generates funds for our wider work, and which protects and enhances treasured properties in our city.
